Incredibly stable dimming: eldoLED

There’s a new world-class driver in our range of LED products: eldoLED. eldoLED drivers eliminate any perceptible flicker and are incredibly reliable, stable dimmers. Want to find out how eldoLED drivers can benefit your business? Discover the various models now.

eldoLED has mastered the art of eliminating perceptible flicker (it even has a patent for it!). And that’s not all, because eldoLED drivers boast an array of other excellent features:

  • Stable dimming range (especially at the low end of the range, down to 0.1%)

  • Ignorable inrush current, lower than the rated current

  • Total Harmonic Dissonance (THD) <20% during dimming

  • High power factor >0.95

  • Efficiency >87.5%

  • Adjustable dimming curve (logarithmic, linear, soft linear or square).

Logarithmic or linear

As a lighting specialist, you’re undoubtedly familiar with the difference between logarithmic and linear dimming. If you are, please bear with us: a logarithmic curve dims the light gradually (fast between 100% and 50%, slower between 50% and 0%), tuned to how the human eye perceives light. With a linear curve, on the other hand, light is dimmed at a uniform rate (from 100% to 1 or 0.1%). This curve is particularly suitable for mixing colors (tunable white/RGB), for example.

ECOdrive/SOLOdrive

Both of these LED drivers have a programmable output (constant current), but their dimming behaviour differs, with the ECOdrive having a slightly smaller range (down to 1%) than the SOLOdrive (down to 0.1%). Both dimmers are available in DALI-2 and 0-10V.

  • Our advice: Single color Dali-2 or 0-10V dimmable LED fixtures.

DUALdrive

This LED driver has not one but two programmable outputs (constant current). Besides, it’s entirely fine-tunable. Once you program the LED data, the fixture provides the corresponding light color and light output.

This driver is available as DALI-2 DT6 (two Dali addresses required) or as DALI-2 DT8 (only one DALI address needed). Of course, your DALI gateway has to support the various options. For many contemporary DALI systems, a DALI-2 DT8 driver will be the right choice.

  • Our advice: Tunable white fixtures controlled via DALI (Color)

Every ECOdrive, SOLOdrive and DUALdrive can be connected to the Casambi module (via the LEDcode input). There are two suitable Casambi modules: one for single color (ECOdrive or SOLOdrive), and one for tunable white (DUALdrive). Both modules can be named and mapped in the Casambi application during production.

POWERdrive

The POWERdrive has a programmable, constant current output. It differs from the ECOdrive, SOLOdrive and DUALdrive in that it has four independent outputs. The POWERdrive is suitable for 50W (DMX, widely used in theatre technology) and 100W (DMX & DALI).

  • Our advice: RGBW fixtures, 4 different Single Color fixtures and dynamic applications where the light has to be able to change quickly and synchronously, e.g. in theatres or clubs.

POWERdrive 6060/R

The POWERdrive 6060/R integrates 32 drivers into one, which can be controlled via DMX, DALI or 0-10V. You can install up to 32 fixtures on the POWERdrive 6060/R, making this an extremely "clean", professional choice.

  • Our advice: large residential buildings or offices where it may be difficult to install or access drivers.

LINEARdrive

The LINEARdrive is a driver with a constant voltage output. Different models are compatible with different control standards (DMX/DALI), and there are various different LINEARdrive versions that are compatible with AC/DC or DC/DC applications. LINEARdrive and POWERdrive are also ideal in DMX applications. The available power ratings range from 10 to 120W, allowing you to pick the right range for each application.

  • Our advice: LED strips and 12V LED modules incorporated into end channels or
    coves in commercial spaces.
