The owners of Eersel-based Restaurant dinee-café Veertien knew perfectly well that their demands were challenging. And still, they really wanted their long-cherished stained glass experience above the brand-new bar. Fred Verbruggen, owner of Decofred Interior Design for Hospitality businesses, had his work cut out for him. And the results? They defied everyone’s expectations.

Dinee-café Veertien’s main eye-catcher? Daylight.

“The main brief was to create a stained-glass experience, creating an inside-out perspective. Not an easy feat, considering the total absence of daylight in the space. The only thing behind the coloured, translucent light box foil we used was a ceiling, so choosing the right lighting was crucial. We figured out at an early stage that daylight LEDs would be too bright for the serene atmosphere we had in mind."

"Together with Kevin and Femke from Tronix, we chose RGB so we could tweak the light colour and intensity. Density was also crucial to achieve uniform scatter across the entire panel. And then there’s the length... We used 45 metres worth of led lighting, connected to two power supply units and a single controller. The result has exceeded everyone’s expectations, including my own. The entire restaurant has undergone a metamorphosis, but the stained glass stands out as the real eye-catcher.”

“Again and again, I am struck by how much Tronix employees know about their products ”

“For me, Tronix was the ideal partner for this challenge. Their level of assistance is unparallelled. Again and again, I am struck by how much Tronix employees know about their products. It was a considerable challenge, but that’s what made it exciting - and it appears that Tronix feels the same way! Mission accomplished!"
