A truly atmospheric multifunctional hall that can be transformed into an exhibition floor in no time. How do you create that? Rob van de Ven (owner of Service VBV) has the answer to that question. He devised a sophisticated lighting plan for Brabanthallen 's-Hertogenbosch that gives the MAINSTAGE the look it deserves.

Mainstage Brabanthallen given style and body

‘Brabanthallen wanted to be able to welcome more congresses and events in a space that has style and body. At the same time, they wanted to be able to convert the MAINSTAGE if necessary, so they could organise trade fairs. So it needed to be multi-functional! The focal point of the lighting plan is RGB-W lighting along the existing rafters, with all white shades and all colors within easy reach.’

‘During carnival, the lights reflect the colors of the carnival club, while during a comedy show the MAINSTAGE is stunningly illuminated in soft blue. And so on.... The challenge was the long lengths because the hall is 53 metres wide. We created these long lengths together with Tronix, using ‘constant current’ LED strips. Partly because of a powerful double-layer circuit board, these LED strips are color-stable up to a length of 20 metres. The result is a stunning atmosphere with consistent lighting and no color fluctuations.’

“The key strength of Tronix? As well as their range and stock, their key strength is their willingness to think with us.”

‘The key strength of Tronix? As well as their range and stock, their key strength is their willingness to think with us.’ Sometimes you have the feeling: ‘almost but not quite’. And for Tronix, that’s the moment they go that extra mile, even adapting existing products - especially for you. It’s certainly not a ‘can’t do that, don’t have that’ club, as they always go for gold. That mentality really appeals to me.
